It's such a coincidence to me that Niklas and Friends began a revival just a few weeks ago. I hadn't checked out the old site in years and then a few months ago I was playing Sims and decided to make a Niklas themed town. So I came back to the site to brush up on the lore and see if there had been any updates and I was really sad to see not a lot had been going on and some of the stories didn't even work anymore. I couldn't even find Fabian's story, Homesick, on the site, and a lot of the other stories had broken images.
Once I had my Sims figured out I ended up seriously thinking about starting a spin-off site and series that was going to be a few years later with Jonathon as the main character with his best friends Sniv, Keith, and Ricardo as they skate, swim, get into trouble around town, and deal with budding romances. I wanted Jonathon to be like one of the cool kids because he's an awesome drummer and gets to be a band with older boys, but I'm not sure how to deal with his relationship with Jason if that's a thing that should have been solidified after so much time, or if it would still be a "will they, won't they" Junjou kind of tease. Their relationship was always going to be kind of the more complicated one since they both tend to skew a little more dominant in their traits. I like the idea of Ricardo being in the group because he's kind of obsessed with Sniv. That it starts out with kind of some jealousy, but then over time he just wants to be wherever Sniv is. But Sniv is so used to playing runner up to his big brother that he doesn't even notice that Ricardo has eyes only for him. And Keith's dynamic is great because he can seem like a bully off the bat to most people, short tempered, will curse people out, but he's also kind of the group protector when things get bad, and he especially is defensive of Martin who he sees as this glowy angelic being of purity and innocence, even if behind Martin's sweet face there might be the dirtiest mind out of everyone.
I'm not going to do anything serious with that idea for a while, especially since I want to see what kind of stuff might be happening around here! But I still wanted to put the idea out there in front of people who actually know who these characters are and get some feedback.

Hi there!! As previously said, we should chat sometime. I am no artist or writer but in talks with an artist who is interested in maybe doing some spin-off. I think there's modern LGBTQ youth issues that should be brought to light and maybe tackle the R word... Religion! I think maybe a short comic about a boy being disowned and kicked out for being too "sissy" and how Niklas and his friends help.
I'm a writer, but my artistic skills are barely functional, so it's one of those things that I definitely want to get better at, I just need a lot more practice.
I would love to see a new story like that! It's still not easy in a lot of heavily religious areas to just be yourself, and even harder when you're young and under so much pressure to conform. I'll definitely be rooting for you to make something like that happen, and if I can help at all I'd be glad to!
